Your buddies back home seem to be having fun with this! My non-birding husband kept a bushy beard that often sported icicles when he worked on a fishing trawler in his youth. On one of those trips he watched a snowy owl on the boat for days a hundred miles off the coast of Maine. Now every time I miss yet another snowy in winter he gets to sing "I already saw one" over and over.... Only the girlfriend’s opinion really counts, right?
